We are very lucky to have Wendy Holgren joining the E-T-E team next year. Wendy has been the Head of the Foundation Phase of Sun Valley Primary School for many years and knows and has taught most of the children in our program. She is passionate about education and shares our belief that it is the most effective way to improve our commuinty. Wendy will oversee all the children and be a piller of support for them as they grow up and move through different stages of their lives. She will keep in regular contact with them and check up on their progress and act as a guidence counselor whenever they need it. Most of the children that are part of E-T-E are in primary school and some are nearing high school, this can be quite a big change in a young person's life and for this reason we are very glad that Wendy can be there as a mentor and confidant to them during their schooling careers so that no child gets left behind or starts feeling overwhelmed. Another new thing is that from next year, E-T-E will have its own class room at Sun Valley Primary school for the children to use after school for home work, games or just being together. This will also serve as their own safe space where they can relax and feel welcome. We are also looking into letting the children that are interested start playing musical instruments. We are looking forward to another exciting year of Empowerment Through Education and can't wait to have Wendy Holmgren on board as our children go from strength to strength.
