Abby has had a turbulent 2022.
Her Granny, who was her only stable family supporter, died very suddenly of a stroke.
However, she has been working at a local Wine farm restaurant for a year or so now, trying to raise enough funds to continue her studies.
She is wanting to study Family Law. In her current job she has excelled and been made supervisor, a responsibility that she is managing extremely well.
Abigail had this to say about herself:
"I am Abigail De Klerk, currently 18 years old in Grade 12.
I am living partially with my Grandmother hand partially with Foster parents.
I am a ambitious, hardworking individual. I am a well-spoken, well-mannered young coloured woman in South-Africa and with that I plan to give back and help my country. I have chosen the subject history to provoke me in chasing my dreams to become a lawyer.
I love learning and have been fortunate enough to learn until Grade 12. I hope to learn further and for better my knowledge thus then being able to better myself and learn my Country.
I am the first person in my family that will obtain a Matric and I pray that i will be able to fulfill my dreams.
I want to be the change .. "
